Very friendly staff, great Fajitas!

Super friendly staff: from reception to service. And delicious food! It's a shame that it's not around the corner from me, otherwise I would probably be there every day. I also felt corona-safe. My FAVORITE Mexican!

The whole staff manages to wear a mask cleanly, only the one who prepares the food only wears it on their mouth or optionally on their knees .. A few regular customers less, that's not possible ..!

Food was very good, service courteous and atmosphere, especially on the balcony facing the Neckar, very nice.

Very delicious Mexican food, especially the Mole Enchiladas :) the food has its price, but you sit comfortably on the Neckar

We were with two families in El Chico and were very satisfied. Not only the beautiful location is convincing but also the child-friendliness, fairly fast service and of course delicious food ... Everything was great!

The food doesn't taste very good. But the service is even worse. In almost 2 hours only the order was taken and the food brought, otherwise nothing was seen of the service. The restaurant wasn't nearly full, so there would have been time to attend to the guests. The time was instead invested in cigarette breaks ...

The El Chico has a great location and a great view of the Neckar. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for our food. The food itself was okay, but not overwhelming, it lacked the pepp of spices and flavors, which in my opinion belong to Mexican cuisine. However, the menu had a good selection of different dishes and the portion sizes were great! If you don't expect anything great in terms of taste, but are satisfied with relatively simple Mexican food with a good view and want to be full, then El Chico is a very good address!

I didn't eat Mexican often. But the food there was really a letdown. The speedometers were more mini buritos. And my real burito just filled with rice. Little chicken. Little salad. Just rice and beans. It was nicely prepared and the staff, at least for me, was quite friendly. That's why it gets its 3 stars. But the food doesn't exactly make me hungry a second time. Unfortunately.

Would you like it to be a great menu, even for those who are not familiar with Mexican cuisine. The food is delicious and, surprisingly, is served very quickly. Space and especially the terrace 10 out of 10. Ideal to satisfy hunger qualitatively and also a wide range of drinks of almost all kinds. 1 star deduction because the service takes a little longer than usual (lack of staff at peak times is not an excuse)

Food was ok. The service is really underground. Starter and main course come together, but not cutlery. Unfriendly and stressed. Constantly takes a cigarette break. We were there for 90 minutes and he only came on request. Clear tables that are unoccupied and neglect those present. Some things are wrong here. What a shame

Due to Corona situation they had limited number of tables to offer which is perfectly fine. For us however, a group of 8 people, apparently they only had a dark corner with no air flow and very hot weather. I would have just told my guests that I don't have enough space to accept them.... The meal was priced premium with sub-mediocre quality. Overall, that was an unpleasant time and we wont recommend this restaurant for the time being. Three stars goes to speed of the service, nice drinks and the professional waitress. Thank you for those.

The food tastes pretty good. You have to be lucky with the staff. Sometimes they are in a good mood or trying hard and sometimes not 🤷‍♂️. If you sit inside in summer, the terrace is open and the smoking smoke 🚬 is blown inside. The price could be a little cheaper. Therefore two star deduction. All in all it's okay.

The absolute top hammer when it comes to fine South American cuisine. Incredibly good quality (and tasty). Special requests are not a problem, queries are most kindly received and answered. Service is right, food is right and of course the location too. The smoke-free interior is quite cozy, invites you to linger, there are enough seating options on the terrace and invite you to let your gaze wander. The cocktails here are a number of their own - finely tuned; traditional as well as unexpected also in good quality.

The staff is incredibly attentive, hospitable, courteous and and and. Just great! The atmosphere is relaxed and El Chico offers a view of the Neckar, where pedal boaters kick you off, punt drivers make sure their pokes don't get stuck and a motorboat rarely comes by. It doesn't take the kitchen long to turn orders into dishes that are truly a poem. I don't use old words very often, but "it was very tasty". The portions are just right, you get full without having to roll away. The homemade limos and cocktails are also very tasty and make a difference in terms of presentation. Will definitely come back here the next time I'm in Tübingen!

Full program: Delicious food, cozy, and super nice staff. Especially Daniella, our waitress, was super friendly and courteous.

“Late evening meal” is not taken seriously here. We got there at 9 p.m. and were told that it would be closed soon. The balcony was brimming with customers. Then why are we being told that the last lap was done?

Very fast at ~16:00, we got great drinks and excellent food. Personal was very friendly. Was a good time there.

Do you want to get low quality fast food food at a restaurant high price? Go there. My sallad costed 7 euro, was small and tasted exactly as the worst kebab-place sallad you can get. If this is not enough I will tell you another thing: at that place I forgot my umbrella. The day after I went there for asking if they found something and they pretended that they hadn't found my umbrella, but it was there and I took it at last.

Nothing to do with Mexican food. The place is nice and the staff really kind but the food is something similar to Mexican food but in strange way. Good views of the river.

Nice fresh salads

One platter for two and a corn-on-the-cob took an hour and fifteen minutes. The waiting staff was helpless as the kitchen took forever. The food was below par. Ribs were fried red meet with neither marination or any spice on top. Quesadillas were cheesy and bland. Only the guacamole had some spunk to it.

If my eyes were closed, I would have never guessed that I was eating Mexican food. Even with my eyes open I could hardly tell...wouldn't even call it TexMex. Don't come here expecting anything resembling Mexican food and you will save yourself the disappoint.

It's far from authentic Mexican food but it's a nice place with very good ambiance

Is not really Mexican food. But is tasty. And it contains Mexican flavors. It is very well located.

Tex Mex restaurant. Meat was well seasoning. Mojito was super sweet. Service was slow. Abit pricey. Nice view to the river in summer.

Decent Tex-Mex food and good service. The music is way too loud though, if you're considering this location for a relaxed evening where you can have a nice chat with others.

Rather unattentive staff, some standardized, basically ok mex food - but this thing we witnessed today! An elderly man was having dinner at the place, sitting alone at his table next to us. He then was met by the waiter coming up with the bill with a crackling joke on the guy being alone there, along the line "will you pay for all of you or just yourself," I didn't catch it in detail but that was the "punchline." Look for better places in the area of Tuebingen, there are plenty, foodwise and otherwise.
